The South African Guild of Actors, is a proud member of the International Federation of Actors and is affiliated to the trade union UASA. The Guild exists to provide a powerful and unified voice on behalf of the rights of actors working in film, television and theatre, and who offer various specialised services to the commercial and corporate sectors in South Africa.

Our effectiveness is dependent on the active engagement of our members; to this end we have embraced the social media and encourage open discussion and debate. From time to time, however, a Facebook-fracas requires a considered perspective on a particular topic, and this blog has been set up with the aim of serving that function.

We welcome your equally considered comments on all issues raised on this blog, but reserve the right to moderate any contribution deemed to be inappropriate. Views expressed on this blog are the responsibility of the individual correspondents and do not reflect the official position of SAGA, unless otherwise specified.
